Install and Update Vivaldi on Android

Installing Vivaldi from Google Play

To install Vivaldi on your Android device:

  1. Open the Google Play app.
  2. Search for Vivaldi Browser.
  3. Tap on Install.
  4. Once it has finished loading, tap Open.
  5. Go through the onboarding flow, accept the Terms of Use and you’re ready to go.

The oldest Android version Vivaldi is supported on is Android 7 – Nougat.

In case you don’t want to get Vivaldi from an app store, you can download the .apk version of Vivaldi from Vivaldi.com/android (click Don’t have Google Play? below the Google Play button).

Important! Updates via .apk install are not automatic. To ensure you are aware of the latest fixes and security updates, we strongly advise subscribing to our Newsletter or RSS feed.


Updating the mobile browser

The app will be updated silently in the background when you have automatic updates enabled in Play Store > account menu (top right corner) > Settings > Network Preferences > Auto-update apps. You can tell that the app has been updated to a new version, when Android’s What’s New page is opened in a new tab.

In case you have automatic updates disabled:

Option 1

  1. Open the Google Play app.
  2. Open the account menu > Manage apps & device > Manage.
  3. Find Vivaldi on the list.
  4. Tap on Update.

Option 2

  1. Search for Vivaldi on Google Play.
  2. Open the app’s profile.
  3. Tap on Update.

Uninstalling the browser

To uninstall Vivaldi:

Option 1

  1. Find Vivaldi in your app gallery or home screen.
  2. Long-press on the app logo.
  3. Tap on Uninstall.

Option 2

  1. Open your device’s Settings > Apps.
  2. Find Vivaldi on the list.
  3. Tap on Uninstall.

Option 3

  1. Search for Vivaldi on Google Play.
  2. Open the app’s profile.
  3. Tap on Uninstall.
