Collections on Vivaldi Social

There are no algorithms on Mastodon that would suggest accounts for you to follow. Instead, people can create collections of accounts they recommend.

Create a collection

To create your own collection:

1. Go to the Collections page from the vertical menu on the side of the page.
   Alternatively, go to the Featured tab on your account’s profile.
2. Click New collection.
3. Search for accounts you want to add to the collection.
4. Click Continue.
5. Give the collection a name, add a description and a hashtag.
6. Choose the language, collection’s visibility, and if needed, hide the collection behind a content warning.
7. Click Create collection.

If you can’t add an account to your collection, it means that the owner of the account has opted out from discovery experiences.

View and share your collection

To view your collections:

1. Click Collections on the vertical menu on the side of the page.
   Alternatively, go to the Featured tab on your account’s profile.
2. Click on a collection to view the featured accounts.

To view collections others have created:

1. Go to the Featured tab on the user’s profile.
2. Click on a collection to view the featured accounts.

To share a collection:

1. Go to the collection you want to share.
2. Click the Share button in the top right corner.
3. In the Share collection dialog, you can copy a link to the collection, make a post with a link to the collection, or use the sharing options provided by your operating system.

Edit collections

To manage accounts in the collection:

1. Go to the Collections page from the vertical menu on the side of the page.
   Alternatively, go to the Featured tab on your account’s profile.
2. Click on the 3-dot menu next to the collection or in the top right corner when you have the collection open.
3. Select Manage accounts.
4. Search for accounts you want to add and click the Remove button on accounts you want to remove from the collection.

To update details about collection:

1. Go to the Collections page from the vertical menu on the side of the page.
   Alternatively, go to the Featured tab on your account’s profile.
2. Click on the 3-dot menu next to the collection or in the top right corner when you have the collection open.
3. Select Edit details.
4. Make the changes.
5. Click Save.

Delete collections

To delete a collection:

1. Go to the Collections page from the vertical menu on the side of the page.
   Alternatively, go to the Featured tab on your account’s profile.
2. Click on the 3-dot menu next to the collection or in the top right corner when you have the collection open.
3. Select Delete collection.
4. Click Delete in the confirmation dialog.

Being featured in collections

If you want to make sure that people can add you to their collections or, the opposite, you want to prevent them from featuring your account:

1. Go to Preferences > Privacy and reach > Reach.
2. (Un)tick the box for Feature me in discovery experiences.

To view collections featuring you:

1. Click Collections on the vertical menu on the side of the page.
2. Go to the Featuring you section.
3. Click on a collection to view the featured accounts.

If you don’t want to be featured in a specific collection:

1. Go to the collection you want to remove yourself from.
2. Click Remove me in the top right corner.
3. Click Remove me in the confirmation dialog.
