This guide will explain how you can remove Vivaldi from your computer. Choose which operating system you are using and follow the appropriate steps below.

Windows XP

  1. Close all Vivaldi windows and tabs and quit Vivaldi.
  2. Click the Start menu > Control Panel.
  3. Click Add or Remove Programs.
  4. Click Vivaldi.
  5. Click Change/Remove to uninstall Vivaldi.

Windows Vista, 7 & 8

  1. Close all Vivaldi tabs and windows and quit Vivaldi.
  2. Open the Start Menu:
    • Windows 7 & Vista: Click the Start menu > Control Panel > Programs.
    • Windows 8: Open the Charms bar by moving your mouse to the right hand corners of the screen. Then click Settings > Control Panel.
  3. Click Uninstall a program or Programs and Features.
  4. Select Vivaldi.
  5. Click Uninstall.
  6. Confirm that you want to uninstall by clicking on the Yes button

Windows 10

  1. Close all Vivaldi windows and tabs and quit Vivaldi.
  2. Click File -> Exit to exit Vivaldi completely.
  3. Open the Start menu and then go to Settings > System.
  4. Select Apps & features from the left panel.
  5. Select Vivaldi and then click the Uninstall button that appears.
  6. Click the Uninstall pop-up button to confirm.

Mac

  1. Close all Vivaldi tabs and windows and quit Vivaldi.
  2. Open Finder.
  3. Go to the folder containing Vivaldi on your computer.
  4. It will most likely be in the Applications folder. If not, go to File > Find, and search for “Vivaldi”.
  5. Right-click Vivaldi and select Move to Trash from the context menu.

Linux

  1. Close all Vivaldi tabs and windows and quit Vivaldi.
  2. Open a terminal window.
  3. Enter the uninstall command:
    • Debian-based systems: Enter sudo dpkg -r remove vivaldi*
    • Other RPM-based systems: Enter sudo rpm -e vivaldi*
  4. Enter your computer’s password

How to delete your user profile

The user profile contains browsing data such as bookmarks, passwords and history. Follow these steps to fully delete your user profile.

  1. While using Vivaldi, click Menu -> About Vivaldi
  2. Make a note of the path listed under Profile Path, minus *Default*.
  3. Quit Vivaldi.
  4. Open a file explorer and search for Vivaldi folder following the path you noted above.
  5. Delete the entire Vivaldi folder.
