Hide browser window’s user interface

One option to hide the user interface is to go into full screen mode, but then the Tab you have open will be the only thing you see on the screen. An alternative is to hide just the browser’s toolbars. Continue reading to learn how to hide the toolbars all at once and one by one.

Hide the full user interface

To hide all user interface toolbars at once:

To show the user interface again, follow the same steps as for hiding it.


Hide the Tab Bar

To hide the Tab Bar:


Hide the Address Bar

To hide the Address Bar:


Hide the Panel

To hide the Panel bar on the side of the browser:

  • Click on the Panel toggle button Hide/Show Panel button on the left side of the Status Bar;
  • Go to the Vivaldi menu > View > Show Panel.
  • Type “Panel” in Quick Commands;
  • Use the Keyboard Shortcut F4 / ⌥⌘P;
  • Create a Mouse Gesture for the action.

Hide the Status Bar

To hide the Status Bar:

  • Go to the Vivaldi menu > View > Show Status Bar.
  • Go to Settings > Appearance > Status Bar and enable Hide Status Bar;
  • Type “Status Bar” in Quick Commands;
  • Use the Keyboard Shortcut Ctrl+Shift+S / ⌘/;
  • Create a Mouse Gesture for the action.

Hide the Bookmark Bar

To hide the Bookmark Bar:

  • Go to the Vivaldi menu > View > Show Bookmark Bar;
  • Go to Settings > Bookmarks > Bookmark Bar and disable Show Bookmark Bar;
  • Type “Bookmarks Bar” in Quick Commands;
  • Use the Keyboard Shortcut Ctrl+Shift+B / ⇧⌘B;
  • Create a Mouse Gesture for the action.

Show hidden user interface elements

To show the hidden Tab, Address, Status Bar or the Panel again, follow the same instructions as for hiding them.
